More About Clovis Glass

Lee & Dee Hoover

Established in 1964, Clovis Glass has been owned since 1991 by Lee and Dee Hoover. Clovis Glass is known throughout Central California as a total glass store with a strong commitment to the community, providing services ranging from small custom jobs to major commercial projects.

Clovis Glass and Milgard® Windows and Doors were featured in a 2009 broadcast of ABC’s “Extreme Makeover Home Edition.” Clovis Glass and Milgard® donated materials and hundreds of professional hours to install windows and doors in the Fresno home of Maryanne Riojas.

Clovis Glass’ 2,000 square foot showroom of creative window and door solutions and designs features a wide range of window styles, replacement windows, doors, color options and glass styles. The creative showroom helps homeowners visualize Clovis Glass products in – and on – their homes. It’s a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere that provides customers with the opportunity to take time and explore the many possibilities available.

The showroom is one example of how Clovis Glass, Central California’s number one window replacement company, has expanded greatly during the past 15 years. Clovis Glass is the Valley’s largest Milgard® certified replacement specialist. In addition to residential work, Clovis Glass has provided windows and doors to numerous commercial buildings throughout Fresno County, including Sierra Vista Mall, Michael’s Auto Center, offices near Fig Garden Village, and custom glass for the remodeled Tarpey Depot in Clovis.

The Clovis Glass showroom and facility at 99 Sunnyside Avenue in Clovis comprises 40,000 square feet of buildings on 2.5 acres.

Home Thermal Energy Inspection
It can pay to have an expert help you make your home more energy efficient. A Clovis Glass energy inspection can help to identify potential energy-saving measures. It’s free with a minimum window purchase.

We’ll look over your home. We’ll look under your house. We’ll check the seals around windows and doors and check to see if they're double-paned. We’ll prepare a written checklist that explains what needs to be done to your home to reduce your energy consumption.

Our EPA Lead-Safe Certification
Any contractor, from plumbers to electricians to painters, who disturbs lead paint while working
in a pre-1978 home, school or day care center, now must be Lead-Safe Certified by the Environmental Protection Agency. Clovis Glass received certification before the Federal law took effect in April 2010.

The Renovation, Repair, and Painting rule requires that renovators are trained in the use of lead safe work practices, that renovators and firms be certified, that providers of renovation training be accredited, and that renovators follow specific work practice standards.

The rule applies to all persons who are paid to perform renovation, repair, and painting projects in pre-1978 housing, child care facilities and schools with lead-based paint. This includes home improvement contractors, maintenance workers, painters and other specialty trades.

Lead is a toxic metal that was used for many years in products found in and around our homes. Lead also can be emitted into the air from motor vehicles and industrial sources, and lead can enter drinking water from plumbing materials. Lead-based paint is present in many homes built before 1978.

The federal government banned the use of lead-based paint in housing in 1978. Lead is known to cause a range of health effects, from behavioral problems and learning disabilities, to seizures and death. Children six years old and under are most at risk from exposure lead-based paint because they crawl on the floor and they put their hands and other items which can have lead-based paint dust on them into their mouths. Because their bodies are still growing, children tend to absorb more lead than adults.
